Non-MikeAbleXray

I find myself reading interesting articals online; or seeing interesting/funny/confusing videos; and my borther brother and robert are usually good for a few cool links every month. I'd like to share some with the unwashed masses but don't want to clutter my blog posts. Viola! Non-MikeAbleXray. A blog just for garbage from the net. It's a "link blog" so its not in anyway original but I dont much care. Sometimes I'll comment. sometimes I'll correct, sometimes I'll mock, sometimes I'll just deliver a link. Read / Don't Read - I'll never know.

I Hate Love This Website.

I'm entirely displeased with the new look of the website. I Love this new design. Lets never speak of that other thing again. How do you feel about it? One good thing is that it's now compatable with FireFox.

Google Whore

As you can tell I've totaly sold out and put Google Ads on blog. I've tucked them down past the important stuff on the side so I hope you'll forgive me. Or better yet, Click away and help me defray my costs. Excuse me, I need to shower now.

.comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}

I have turned on the comment back links feature which is suposed to capture any back links to the blog (but I doubt there are any). Unfortunatly the Blogger code for that is broken. So, for the time being, Blogger poops ".comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}" onto the top of the page. Pretty cool, huh?

New Section-tastic!

Howdy ya'll. It may have slipped past the casual observer so it bears mention; I have added some new sections. I added a quick and dirty Butte Events Calendar , and a section on the books I've read recently. Just a little value-added goodness for ya. Carry on gentle reader.

More Self Referential Nonsense about the Blog

I got some comments about the blog on the trip. In fact most people had something to say. I know your all busy and important people like me so here is the executive summary: "I read it a lot", "Were did it go?". "I used to here from you now I don't", "Why don't you give more details about your personal life?", "You should go back to having it password protected and more unedited content", "Its funny", "What ever happened to Hard Hitting Action News?", "I like your movie reviews.". And here is a short set of responses. "Cool", "Its still here I'm just lazy - er I mean busy", "Then pick up the phone", "Because my mom read this", "But who would be in the 'inner circle'?", "Sounds like code for: 'It occasionally makes me snort'", "With the advent of the Onion and the Daily Show HHAN is dead.", "I'll do more". Where you able to match those up? Good for you!

Anniversary Excuses

On March the 3rd 2006 The blog had its first anniversary. Yipee. I'd be more excited except that I totally missed it. In fact I haven't posted in a while. I will resort to the excuse that I was having an abnormally active personal life. As far as such excuses it's a pretty good one. I'll endeavor to do better hence forth, and other such lies.

Subscribe to MAX

You can now subscribe to the MikeAbleXray Blog using the link on the left.

What is "subscribing"? If you read multiple blogs, its a cool thing. It allows you to check all those blogs at once without having to go to each website. You'll need a feed aggregator like Feed Demon. Feed Demon is easy to use. Copy the URL pointed to by the subscribe button, then click Add new Channel and the rest will become clear.

But what if I only read your blog? Well soon the companion Silver Bow Properties Blog will have a feed. That's a blog you'll likely be interested in. Once you have Feed Demon you'll probably find a podcast or two you'll like.

Blog-cest Strikes MikeAbleXray

Folk have suggested that these blogs (or blog-o-sphere for the twerps who like that sort of marketing friendly lingo) are a bit incestuous in the sense that they tend to refer to each other heavily. I figured MikeAbleXray wouldn't ever be party to such things as it wouldn't ever garner any readership.

However, shock-of-friggen-shocks, a podcast I enjoy, Pulp Gamer,(podcasts being an audio extension of blogs - sorta) mentioned this crap-hole of a website. Amuse yourself with Pulp Gamer Episode 15 at about 9:35.

A word to those not familiar with the Pulp Gamer podcast. It's a review of games that arn't video games. They often review family friendly and party games, like say non-lame alternatives to Pictionary, Monopoly, or Caboodle. Also they frequently cover card games, pen and paper RPGs, and the like. It's a good listen for those looking for new diversions. Bonus points if you have fond giggly memories of DnD; you'll enjoy the side jokes. It comes out two to three times a month so it doesn't overwhelm you. I listen to it while doing boring spreadsheet work late at night when the non-geeks aren't in the office. The Pulp Gamer feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/PulpGamer

An incestuous word back to the Pulp Gamer crew. Yes I do like your fine "Pulp Gamer" podcast, yes I'm mostly kidding about the "loser" thing. I admire your bravery for embracing your geek-a-tude; a true inspiration to closet-cases everywhere. I enjoy your in-depth reviews and interviews. I appreciate that your analysis and comments have more depth than "uh, dude.. its just cool."; But I quote: "Butt wiping bring us all together"; your not quite going for the Pulitzer, yes? Besides, you'll note that the overall tone of MikeAbleXray is largely negative so I wouldn't take it too hard. Of course if a mention on this blog is a big deal then... well uh; it only can get better from here on out. Er, Keep your chins up little campers! The breaking up of the show up into parts yet keeping the master feed is a wise move (I'll stay with the master feed to insure that I continue to get all the rich PG goodness). And I do find the DnD asides comical. By-the-by, nice segway with the mid-life crisis thing. Keep it up!

PS: I played a little Johnny-grab-ass with the saturation and levels of your FNH logo. If it fills you with seething rage and makes you want to kill indiscriminately then I'll remove it.

I Throw Open The Doors.

I've opened the block. As some of you are aware I had it password protected. Which might have been fine but I never did get around to disseminating that password to the correct people. The point was to provide a terse news feed to those out in california. Though it became clear that the blog was avialable by searching blogger.com. Hence i've just unleased to the world.

Hard Hitting Action News!!

Had a pleasant visit from mom. She made an ass load of food. We didn't do much of anything because she wasn't here long. She loved Rocky.

Peter and Denna got a dog named Escrow. Golden Retriever. They (or just he) is coming in late July early august for a week to 10 days. He wants me to restart HHAN. But the Onion and The Daily Show does such a great job its sorta silly to do so. Plus I was getting complaints before from people who didn't like being on a list.

Perhaps as an alternate idea i'll do an advice column sorta deal with some whacky persona. Send your cards and letters to 78 E. Park Street Butte MT, 59701, or email to me at advice@mikeablexray.com. We'll see how it goes.
